- Please note that during summer, in rare cases of inclement weather or strikes, the crater of Vesuvius may be closed to visitors. An alternative visit to the Archaeological Museum of Pompeii will be included (or an alternative of equal value) instead.
- The optional 20 minute hike up to the crater of Mt. Vesuvius involves a climb on soft ground at a 14 degree angle. A good level of fitness and adequate shoes are required. Those who do not wish to hike may stay in the parking area and enjoy the view.
