Start with a quick lesson about the history and the philosophy of Ikebana from your instructor. Find out the theme of the day after going through the fundamentals.
Go through the flower shop with your instructor to pick out flowers to suit the theme of the day.
With the helpful assistance of your instructor, learn how to compose the flowers in the vase. Learn how to properly use flower scissors and techniques on cutting so flowers and plants will last longer.
After you are done arranging, your instructor will take a look at your masterpiece and give you pointers on how to improve.
