Description
The machiya of Kyoto are the perfect setting to begin your new life together as husband and wife. Experience a traditional Japanese wedding! A National Cultural Asset, the Tondaya machiya is an unforgettable place to hold a traditional Japanese wedding ceremony. Wearing a shiromuku (traditional bridal kimono) and a montsuki-hakama (men's formal dress kimono) the couple will take part in the San-San-Kudo, where the bride and groom take turns sipping sake three times from three different cups, totaling nine sips. As three symbolizes happiness, nine (three times three) is the ultimate lucky number!
