Description

Check out this showcase of the samurai art of kembu. The powerful sword dance will have you marvelling at the skill of the masters as they perform this unique Japanese art. The brave samurai are icons of Japanese culture. This is your chance to see them in action in an exciting, kid-friendly performance in Kyoto! Samurai kembu is a traditional performing art done with a Japanese katana and fan. The word kembu means sword dance. It was used by samurai to give themselves courage or to achieve mental concentration before battle. In the movie "The Last Samurai" you can see actors performing kembu before battle. Usually samurai kembu artists perform to background music, creating a beautiful moving performance.

  • Any cancellations made after 1 hours prior to the activity will be subject to a charge of 100% of the total amount.
