Horyuji Temple
The world's oldest wooden structure, it houses 45 national treasures and many other important cultural assets. You will visit the Golden All, the Five-Storied Pagoda, and the Hall of Dreams.

Chuguji Temple
The principal object of worship here is a bust of the graceful Miroku Bosatsu (Buddha of the Future) in a seated pose, generally called Nyoirin Kannon (The Goddess of Mercy).

Jikoin Temple
Jikoin Zen Buddhist temple is a family temple and was founded by Sasamasa Katagiri, who was the founder of the Sekishu style of tea ceremony.He built the temple to pray for the happiness of his father’s soul. Head inside to enjoy a splendid panoramic view over a cup of matcha green tea!

Please note that the the Eastern tower of the Yakushiji Temple will be under construction and will not be part of the tour.

Toshodaiji Temple
The ornamental ridge-end tile found at the western end of the peak of the roof is well known as the “Imposing Structure of Tempyo”. This temple was founded by the renowned Chinese monk, Ganjin.

Suzakumon Gate (view from bus)
For about 70 years from 710, the capital of Japan was located in Nara. Heijo Palace was situated at the northern end of the capital. This site has been preserved as a special historic spot of Japan. Both the Suzakumon Gate (1998) and Daigokuden Hall (2010) were restored.

Restrictions

  • Please check in at the sightseeing bus information center (in JR Nara Station or Kintetsu Nara Station) by 20 minutes before the bus departure time.
  • Children ages 0-5 may ride free of charge. If a child requires his/her own seat, the fare for elementary school children applies.

Additional Notes

  • A Japanese speaking bus guide will attend the tour.
  • Please understand there may be construction works around the buildings or the statues of Buddha you visit, so there may be cases when the buildings are not entirely visible.
  • Tour schedule or arrival time may be changed due to traffic conditons.
  • Please note that smoking is prohibited on the bus.
  • Please allow yourself enough time, for there may be some delays due to road conditions.
  • You will take 30 minutes for lunch after seeing Chuguji Temple.The tour price does not include lunch. For those who would like a lunch, please request and pay at the window before boarding the bus.
  • Yakushiji Temple East Tower is not opened due to reconstruction until Spring of 2020.
  • According on the day of your tour, you will not be able to see the murals at Yakushiji Temple. Please check your tour dates when booking. For closed days, you will be spending roughly 50-minutes at Yakushiji Temple.
  • This tour may require participants to walk a lot.
