Safety Briefing Before the Dive
Professional guides will go over all of the safety precautions you need during the dive. Information regarding what to expect underwater will also be given. Safety and diving gears will also be fitted and checked before diving.

HMAS Brisbane
The centerpiece of your dive is the wreck of the 1967 Australian Naval Ship HMAS Brisbane. A 133-meter long vessel which served the Navy for over 34 years during the Vietnam and Gulf wars. In 2003, it was recognized as an artificial reef and has been flocked by divers ever since.

Head deep into the wreckage and discover an aquatic life haven that has flourished in the enormous hunk of metal. Various species of marine life have made the HMAS Brisbane their home such as the lionfish, kingfish, turtles and soft coral.

  • All customers MUST CONTACT the Dive Center by phone between 15:00 and 17:00 the day prior to their trip for a weather check and to confirm departure time. If the weather is due to change later in the day, trips can be moved forward to avoid cancellation. The contact information will be on your voucher.
    If guests do not contact the Dive Center and miss departure, there will be no refunds.

Activity Detail

Restrictions

  • Guests who are pregnant are not permitted to participate in this activity.
  • If less than 4 participants are booked, the activity may not operate.
  • Scuba diving certification is required.
  • Guests may not fly within 24 hours of a two-tank scuba dive due to the high risk of decompression sickness.
  • Do not drink alcohol within 8 hours of scuba diving.
  • Guests may not fly within 12 hours of a one-tank scuba dive due to the high risk of decompression sickness. 
  • Guests may not scuba dive if you have any medical issue indicated on the "PADI Medical Statement and Questionnaire". Those with medical issues must consult with a physician and complete the "RSTC Medical Statement and Guidelines for Recreational Scuba Diver's Physical Examination" on their behalf.

Additional Notes

  • All guests MUST follow staff instructions AT ALL TIMES to ensure the safety of participants and provide the best experience.
  • The tour is dependent on weather and sea conditions. Any cancellation due to weather will result in rescheduling. If this is not possible, a full refund will be given.
  • The tour operator will contact you within 24 hrs of your booking to confirm the dive date you have requested.
  • All first time Divers on the Wreck, regardless of qualification or skill level, must have a familiarization dive with a Sunreef guide for their first dive. No penetration on your first dive. Open water divers may penetrate with a Sunreef dive guide.
  • Advanced open water divers have unlimited penetration with a Sunreef Guide to all depths of the wreck.
  • Wreck/cave specialty divers or divers with appropriate experience may independently penetrate. Divers in light locked areas must carry all appropriate specialist equipment.
  • If any person has not dived within two years, they will be required to complete a refresher before taking them out on a dive. If you book this dive and have not dived within 2 years and you do not indicate this information, you may be refused the dive on the day and no refunds will be given.
  • Diving equipment (wetsuit, goggles, fins) is not included in the tour price but are available for rent on site at an additional cost. A photo ID and bond deposit will be required.
