Description

Discover the dark history of Nazism at the Dachau Concentration Camp. Enter with a guide officially qualified by the Dachau to hear stories about the remnants and be reminded of the value of life. Arguably the most gruesome result of Hitler’s rise to power was the building of the concentration and extermination camps. One of the first of these was situated 15km to the northwest of Munich near Dachau. In 1965, a memorial to the victims was created, giving visitors a chance to learn of the atrocities prisoners who were forced to suffer.

    The afternoon tour (13:15) is recommended to those who would like to go on tour without school groups that normally visit the site from May to July and from September to October.

Restrictions

  • The 20-minute documentary film is not recommended for children under 12.
  • Children of all ages can participate in this activity.

Additional Notes

  • The memorial site in Dachau is packed with school groups in the morning from May to July and in September to October. The afternoon tour at 13:15 is recommended during those months. The groups are smaller and there are less visitors on the site.
