Travelling east across Hellisheidi heath past Mt. Hengill volcano, see an active central volcano with enormous magma chambers that operate some of Iceland‘s geothermal energy plants. The lava field covers an area of about 700 square kilometers and is considered one of the largest lava flows to occur in Iceland since the end of the last ice age. Visit another area of black volcanic sands between Skeidararjokull glacier and the sea. Day: Day1 |

Located in Vatnajokull National Park, tongues of glaciers flow down from the enormous Vatnajokull glacier to create majestic scenery begging to be explored. Then, journey to Jokulsarlon glacier lagoon located at the end of Breidamerkurjokull glacier with a depth of around 250 meters. Day: Day1 |
