Check In/Pickup Location Details

  • Departure from our Skaftafell booking center (gray house with the turf roof). Skaftafell is located 327 km (203 miles) from Reykjavik. The nearest towns to Skaftafell are Kirkjubaejarklaustur, 69 km to the west and Hofn, 130 km to the east.

Restrictions

  • Children 8 years old and above can participate in this activity.

Additional Notes

  • The tour will visit either the Falljokull glacier or the Svinafellsjokull glacier depending on the season and current conditions.
  • Travel insurance is recommended.
  • This small group tour operates with a maximum of 15 participants per guide.

  • The weather in Iceland is unpredictable. It is recommended to dress in 3 or 4 layers. You may wear a light t-shirt (preferably wool), then a fleece or heavy wool garment, topped off with a waterproof windbreaker. Jeans are not recommended. Lightweight hiking pants, track pants or long cotton pants are ideal and then waterproof pants over them.
