Become one of Kyoto's lovely maiko for a day. Professional staff will do the white make up and help you dress in a bright kimono before a photo shoot! You can also stroll Kyoto for even more pictures. See yourself in a whole new way with a Maiko, Geisha, or Samurai transformation! Plans available for women, men and kids means unforgettable memories for the whole family during your visit to Kyoto. Topof-the-range cosmetics (both traditional and modern), over 100 different beautiful kimono to choose from and fantastic professional photographers are waiting for you. Activity Detail
Restrictions
- About the kimono sizes: the kimonos used for the studio (indoor) plans can fit guests with bust and waist sizes up to 110 cm, while the stroll (outdoor) plans can fit guests with buts and waist sizes of up to 100 cm.
- There are various optional additions (such as adding more photos, changing your kimono, adding an additional pose etc..) which you can select on site. The staff will show you the options available. Any additional options should be paid for on site.
- Guests who are pregnant are not permitted to participate in this activity.
- Anyone with medical issues with their skin may not have make-up applied on them. You are welcome to join even without make up.
- Maiko/geiko dress-up limited to female participants only, as samurai dress-up is to men.
Additional Notes
- Facilities: Large make up space Changing rooms Towel, brushes, hair dryers Free lockers with locks *There are no showers. *The studio does not have a parking lot. Should you drive, please use a pay parking lot in the area. Locker sizes are 45 cm high x 35 cm wide x 60 cm deep. For large luggage that do not fit, you may keep it on the side of the locker room. Please keep your valuables in your locker.
- In case of snow or rain: When the weather is unfavorable you will not be able to go outside. The Maiko Stroll Plan or Special Plan will be limited to pictures indoors. If you decide to cancel, even on the day, there will be no cancellation fee.
- The rickshaw is for 2 people. If you will be participating alone, there will be an additional charge.
- All photos will be presented to you on the day.
- Observers who wish to ride the rickshaw may join by paying an additional fee on the day of your tour.
- Eating and drinking is allowed, but please refrain from eating anywhere aside from the specified area in the waiting room.
- Around 35 people can fit in the waiting room. Small children must be accompanied by an adult.
- Maiko/geiko dress-up limited to female participants only, as samurai dress-up is to men.

- Please bring: your own: Make up (to reapply after the experience) Tabi socks (if you have them) Contact lense case (if you wear hard lenses). The shop will provide make up remover and towelettes. You can also buy tabi socks for 390 JPY at the studio. Women's sizes available up to 28 cm, men's sizes available up to 29 cm.
