Kranji War Memorial
Stop by the Kranji War Memorial to honor the many men and women who lost their lives during World War II. The shrine serves as a memorial to over 4,400 heroes who have fallen during the city's dark past.
Changi Prison Museum and Selarang Barracks
See part of the wall of a former maximum-security prison and camp for Prisoners of War during World War II. Nearby, the Selarang Barracks is infamous for the Square incident when the Japanese overcrowded the area as punishment for not signing a pledge.
Changi Air Base and Johore Battery
Continue your tour with a stop at significant military bases. Visit the Changi Airbase, formerly a Royal Air Force Station during the British colonization built by Allied POWs. See the artillery display at Johore Battery, where the British naval prowess in Singapore used to be concentrated.
Changi Beach Park
Formerly called Tanjung Rusa, later Tanjung Changi, before arriving at its current name, saw the first of the infamous Sook Ching massacre. Spot the plaque at the beachfront that marks the unfortunate war-related event.
